It has been a steady performer, weathering stock market adjustments.Recently, Australia’s superannuation funds and new Commonwealth Government have brought forward carbon trading policy announcements in response to weather events and pressure from generational change. At last months AGM, shareholder activists started to question the company’s “green” credentials following the ruling on post- Kyoto forestry carbon offsets which has dramatically reduced the potential for additional income from offsets to support diminishing timber returns. The CEO, recently reappointed on a stock performance contract is seeking board advice. Oldco’s November board meeting has a number of climate related issues on the agenda.
